Everyday Heroes project

‘Hearts of Hope’ installation from State of Clay is complete!

Fay De Winter writes - "It is my great pleasure to have been invited by Team Imagineers to create a public ceramic art installation for the NHS with materials sponsored by Potclays. They are hearts to remember and celebrate the life of loved ones passed, thanking everyday heroes, especially NHS staff at the Royal Marsden for the care given before, during and after life. My mother passed away of cancer in December 2019, this piece was initially a personal way of remembering her and thanking the NHS for her care, but then I had an idea to open it up to others, as a way of sharing the experience and giving the opportunity for them to remember their loved ones too. It has been a invaluable experience for me and the response to the project has been super positive, this is a great example of how clay can have healing powers and give a sense of well-being during these uncertain times of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown of 2020. From the darkness can come light".
