AMACO Ceramic Printing Inks Cone 05-6

Saturated Colour | Apply to Unfired Clay or Bisque | True to Colour AMACO Ceramic Printing Inks are printmaking inks designed for use on ceramics, and are great for screenprinting, craft foam printing and monoprinting. Offering a flexible, creative way to decorate greenware or bisque, these inks bring a rich and consistent colour that withstands firing between Cone 05 and Cone 6. For best results, apply thinly to your project. Too thick of an application of the ink may result in a glossy finish. Browse our range of printmaking inks designed for use on ceramics below.

Inks Designed for Ceramic Creativity

Whether you're a hobbyist experimenting with colour layering or a professional potter looking to add fine details to your work, AMACO printing inks provide an accessible tool for rewarding decoration. Formulated to bond with ceramic surfaces during the firing process, these inks are ideal for a range of techniques:

  • Screen printing detailed imagery onto ceramic tiles or vessels
  • Stamping patterns for repeatable decorative motifs
  • Monoprinting to create one-off, artistic impressions
  • Craft foam printing for textured hand-pressed designs

Their versatility extends beyond clay, and they can be used as part of mixed-media projects. Using AMACO ceramic printing inks offers unmatched creative control and the option to utilise them with or without glaze for vibrant, colourful results. When used with a proper glaze, they are considered food safe.

Printing Ink in a Range of Colours

The AMACO palette includes a variety of vibrant and earthy tones that are designed to fire to their intended shade, before the application of a transparent glaze to preserve detail and add a glossy finish. Opting to forgo glaze can produce a more rustic, matte surface.

Popular colours include bright orange and bright red, both of which offer a bold, eye-catching warmth that pairs well with both light and dark clay bodies. Jet black is another ideal option for creating crisp outlines and high-contrast designs.

More vibrant selections include hunter green for botanically inspired themes and medium blue for those nautical motifs. Looking to bring brightness without overpowering other colours? Deep yellow helps to bring brightness without being too overpowering.
