Explore Colour and Surface with Potter’s Choice
AMACO Potter’s Choice brush-on glazes offer flowing colour and varied surface effects for cone 5–6 firing. The range includes finishes inspired by reduction firing, bringing that appearance to pottery fired in oxidation.
Use a single shade to complement your form, or layer compatible colours to develop greater depth and contrast. Potter’s Choice glazes can be layered with other colours from the range as well as compatible AMACO Celadon and Shino glazes. Layering charts provide examples of different combinations, helping you explore how overlapping glazes could work on carved, textured or smooth forms.

The listed temperature equivalents apply at a heating rate of 150°C per hour during the final 100°C of firing:

Statement From AMACO Regarding Glaze Colour
Clay, glaze, and underglaze ingredients may experience colour, particle size, and other changes over time. This occurs due to natural variations in the mines from which raw materials come. Changes in manufacturing processes and suppliers can also be a factor.
