Satin Finishes and Mixable Colours
AMACO Satin Matte glazes offer a soft satin feel, with subtle colour variation over edges and textured areas. Colours within the range are fully mixable, giving you scope to develop your own palette:
- Clear Satin can lighten colour tones.
- Satin Black can create deeper shades.
- Satin White can produce paler tints.
Designed for cone 5–6 firing, the range’s pictured results were fired in oxidation.
Firing Reference
The following temperature equivalents apply at a heating rate of 150°C per hour during the final 100°C of firing:
- Cone 5: approximately 1184°C.
- Cone 6: approximately 1241°C.
AMACO Satin Matte glazes are food-safe. AMACO uses synthetic bone ash, and its clay and glaze products are vegan.
