Unique Mudtools for Pottery
Each tool by Mudtools has been developed to serve a specific purpose in a potter's studio. The Mudtools bulls tongue, for example, can be used as a hybrid rib and shaping tool, with a long tapering profile and smooth edges. It mimics the function of a traditional Gybera but in a durable material that can be used over and over again. This tool excels at helping to refine internal curves, smooth hard-to-reach areas in vessels, and shaping subtle transitions at the wheel. The big paddle is great for helping to alter a project that has been wheel thrown and the flat surface of the tool allows potters to shape, compress, and refine clay. It can also be used within handbuilt pieces, doubling up as a compressing agent - reducing air pockets, and improving the consistency of clay before it is fired in the kiln. The small paddle has a similar use as a piece of pottery equipment, just for smaller, more delicate projects.
