What is "Magic Water" and how do I use it?

Magic Water uses deflocculants as is used making casting slips where it allows clay particles to stay fluid while tightly packed together.  When used to repair or make joins in unfired clay, it is best used quite watery as the sodium silicate can form a glaze in a concentrated form. There are a lot of recipes available, and it is probably not necessary to be precise. We would suggest as a starting point 1lt water, 1gm soda ash and 2.5gms of sodium silicate. Use the lighter 75tW sodium silicate as it is easier to mix. The efficacy will vary with different clay types, so some experiment will be necessary.
