Our 'Educlaytion' Mission
Potclays is committed to championing ceramics in schools, colleges and universities across the UK. Through financial support, technical expertise and industry guidance, we work to encourage and sustain ceramic practice in education. Each year, we provide graduate and postgraduate awards to further education courses offering ceramics, helping to nurture the next generation of makers.
Supporting ceramics education is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to celebrate the creativity, confidence and community that clay inspires.
We are proud to support a range of organisations and initiatives that share our passion for ceramics and education, including:
- The Craft Potters Association (who organise both York Ceramics Fair and Ceramic Art London) with clay for their making areas at each show.
- Clayground Collective and Canterbury Festival with donations of clay each year for their community outreach activities.
- Emerging Makers Award at the International Ceramics Festival in Aberystwyth.
- The NSEAD(National Society for Education in Art & Design)
