Stunning Colours from AMACO
The Phase Glaze range includes tones that shift, blend and bloom across the surface of projects during firing. Floating Lavender (PG-55) offers soft movement in a purple haze, while Night Rain (PG-24) provides bold, atmospheric variation in a navy hue. Teal Drift (PG-42) and Lunar Pink (PG-54) offer striking visual appeal with fluid gradients and transitions.
Each glaze develops its own dynamic character during firing, and looks excellent under or over Potter's Choice Glazes - simply apply three coats over three coats to build layered looks, enhance colour and achieve combinations that are even more intricate. Opt to pair with AMACO Celadons to create interactions that provide subtle shifts and added translucency.
Glazes for Firing at Cone 5/6
AMACO Phase Glazes fire at Cone 5/6, producing reliable, repeatable results at mid-range temperatures. They perform beautifully under oxidation, developing controlled phase separation when applied singularly or layered across the ceramic surface. Apply two to three coats with a soft brush to ensure even coverage - maximising the glaze's natural ability to form gradients within the texture and design.
Cone 5 Firing:
1184°C at 150°C/hour for the final 100°C of firing
2201°F at 270°F/hour for the final 200°F of firing
Cone 6 Firing:
1241°C at 150°C/hour for the final 100°C
2266°F at 270°F/hour for the final 200°F
