The terracotta clay is ideal for creating planters and tiles. For a natural, rustic look, these products can be left unglazed, but glazes can also be used to provide a more modern styling. The sanded clay offers improved strength and reduced firing shrinkage, making it perfect for handbuilding.

Using Red Clay

Each red clay body in our range at Potclays provides a different experience to the potter. For example, Apache Red, a traditional clay made according to a 400-year-old recipe, offers elasticity and a unique, smooth appearance that is traditionally left unglazed. If you're looking for deeper colours through firing, the Etruscan Red can provide a richer colour by responding to being fired with a glaze.
