Why are my pieces taking so long to cast?

If you notice that the slip takes a much longer time to build up to the normal thickness, or appears to stop building any further cast thickness, the deflocculent addition may be too high. The slip will appear to be too thin/runny. To rectify this fault, the only solution is to add more clay and water to restore the balance of deflocculent.
