Using a form of a surrealist automatism, Lucy Baxendale draws from her unconscious to produce pen and pencil drawings which often become the inspiration for her ceramic work. She is curious about how you choose to translate a 2D drawing into a 3D form and pushes herself to build challenging porcelain structures, using a variety of different hand building techniques. Her unusual homeware range, inspired by imaginary worlds, is a playful attempt to bring fun to function.
