How can I change my shiny glaze into a matt one?
All glazes are inherently shiny, even when they appear to be matt. A shiny glaze reflects the light straight back to the viewer (just like a mirror) because it has a smooth surface. A matt glaze has a rough surface, so the reflection is scattered and hence the surface appears to be matt. How is this achieved? Additions are made to the glaze (such as 3443 Matting Agent) which cause crystals to grow in the surface of the glaze therefore producing a non-reflective surface.
