About

BEGUR is a porcelain that stands out for its pink tone when fired, inspired by the characteristic hues of the Costa Brava granite. It offers high plasticity, making it ideal for wheel throwing and hand modelling. Its formula is very stable and allows a safe firing range between 1200 and 1240 ºC (oxidising atmosphere). Suitable for tableware (food-safe), according to ISO 6486. Available in extruded body (moist form). Supplied in a 5 kg cylindrical format in a carton box.

Firing range*: 1200-1240 ºC / Cone 5-6
Biscuit temperature: 1000 ºC / Cone 06
Water content: 23 %
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 11
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0 %
Drying shrinkage: 6.0 %
Firing shrinkage 1240 ºC: 10.5 %
Porosity (water absorption) at 1240 ºC: 0.0%
Dry bending strength: 3.0 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1240 ºC: 55.2 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1240 ºC (25-500 ºC): 65.5x10^-7 ºC^-1

Available in the United States and Canada. ACMI AP Seal. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.

(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150ºC/hr heating rate.
