About
- Recommended Firing Range 1000-1100C.
- Supplied in powder form.
- A low-solubility (LS) lead-frit glaze producing a rich black-green crystalline effect.
- Not recommended for dinnerware.
- Treat with bentonite/flocculant when mixing up to prevent 'hardpanning'.
- Artistic/special effect glazes usually require a generous application to achieve the desired effect. This unusual and interesting glaze gives best results when applied thickly and fired on flat surfaces. Results will vary on vertical surfaces and thinner application.
- Some special effect glazes can melt/flow considerably during firing so please take all necessary precautions, especially with regard to protecting your kiln furniture (stilting, batt wash etc.).
- For general glaze preparation advice please see the main powdered glaze category header here.
Pictured tile has been fired to 1020c.
