These stoneware glazes are available as high-gloss, flat and opaque variations and those with a more complex surface finish. The range is purpose-built for potters who value form and a fired finish, and is ideal for those working with white stoneware or darker clay bodies.

Many of the glazes will break over textures, allowing the creation of intricate patterns and details. When used according to the manufacturer's directions and fired to the appropriate temperature, these glazes are food safe.

Noteworthy Classic Glaze Colours

There are several noteworthy glazes in the stoneware range, some of which can be used as a base glaze in glaze combinations. An example of this is Birch, a soft matte natural number that helps to highlight the form without overpowering any design choices. 

Warm and earthy Copper Float works well in combination with other stoneware classic glazes and can be used to create layered, expressive results. Looking for something that allows for expression? Raspberry Mist can introduce dazzling bursts of soft colour to your statement pieces.

Some glazes are high gloss, opaque, and flat in colour, while others have a more complex, varied surface. The Stoneware Classic glazes also include Opals and Ice (translucent) glazes. These glazes heighten surface details where they gather and pool, work well on a variety of clay bodies and have a firing range from Cone 5 to Cone 10.
