Applying and Pouring Stoneware Crystal Dry Glazes
For fast glazing and flowing effects, we recommend using Mayco’s Stoneware Crystals Dry mix glazes (SDs). Due to the heavy crystals settling to the bottom of the jar or mixing utensil, we recommend mixing thoroughly and pouring the mixed glazes onto your piece with a pour container or pitcher. Over-application in the same area may cause crystals to fall off.
Applying the glaze with a fan brush can help with thickness management and ensure even coverage. For lighter crystal effects, reduce the number of coats. Fired results will vary based on kiln atmosphere, the shape of the project and the amount of glaze, offering true creative magic.
