Potclays Kiln Coasters protect your kiln shelves from running glazes, always use them when testing a new glaze, layering glazes, changing your firing temperature when you are uncertain of the outcome or in any situation where there is a danger of glaze running off the pot and onto the kiln shelf.

Potclays Kiln Coasters are specially made from high grade kiln brick, they will not stick to pots unless the glaze runs and they can be used many times over as long as they’re not contaminated with glaze. If firing very reactive or crystal glazes the glaze may be allowed to run onto the coaster, you can then grind the excess glaze away easily because the coaster is soft and is easily removed from the pot.

Kin Coasters are 76mm X 114mm X 10mm (3” X 41/2” X ¾”). For large pots they can easily be placed together to form a protective mat. For small pieces they can be snapped or cut in half. Useful for standing cones on for high temperature firings where they can sometime stick.
