3402 Barium Carbonate

  • A secondary flux in stoneware and porcelain glazes used generally to produce vellum matt glaze surface.
  • Small quantities (up to 2.5%) are used in some clay bodies and casting slips to prevent scumming arising from soluble salts.
  • Produces a vibrant blue colour in some stoneware glaze recipes.
