Chromium (III) Oxide Cr₂O₃

A versatile pigment producing characteristic opaque green but producing red, khaki or yellow in presence of zinc. Incorporation with with tin produces pink (chrome-tin pink).

Raw colour of powder: Grass green

Colour responses after firing:

Painted onto clay: Brown
Painted onto bisque: Generally green
Reduction firing: Generally no change

Please note that these are the typical results, but combinations of oxides will produce different results depending upon the relative percentages of each used and the firing conditions in the kiln. Also, the underlying body colour will influence the resulting colour.
