Vanadium Pentoxide V₂O₅

Generally used in combination with tin oxide in glazes to give opaque yellow, but also directly as a pigment.

When used in lead containing glazes: Gives a cream-yellow colour, usually marked by brown-yellow patches.

Raw colour of powder: Nutmeg yellow

Colour responses after firing:

Painted onto clay or bisque: not generally used
Painted onto unfired glaze: Creams-yellows
Mixed into glaze: Cream-yellows

Please note that these are the typical results,but combinations of oxides will produce different results depending upon the relative percentages of each used and the firing conditions in the kiln. Also the underlying body colour will influence the resulting colour.
