• Glass casing with weighted bulb
• Baumé 15c scale reading
• Approx. 125mm long
• The Hydrometer is a useful tool in achieving the ideal consistency of glaze and slip.
• Invaluable to enable easy repetition of optimum glaze consistency from one batch to another.
• To use, wet the hydrometer and gently place, bulb end first, in to the glaze slop or clay slip where it will float like a fishing float and the scale can be read.  

Approximate Ranges (for guidance only):

• Dipping or pouring colour glaze: 55 (specific gravity ~1.61)
• Dipping or pouring clear glaze: 46-47 (specific gravity ~1.46 to 1.48)
• Spraying glazes: 60 (specific gravity ~1.71)
• Brushing glazes: 60-65 (specific gravity ~1.71 to 1.81)
