My latest sculpture Staffordshire Bottle Oven: The Fentons of Hanley explores my ancestral connection to the pottery industry in Stoke-on-Trent. It blends family history with wider social commentary, telling the story of my ancestors – the Fentons (Fenton is my maiden name) – who worked in the pottery industry in Stoke-on-Trent from at least the 1800s until the early 1900s.
