Health & Safety Considerations
As one might expect the positioning of the kiln will need to be considered from a safety perspective and measures will need to be taken in respect of ventilation and the prevention of accidents.
An ideal position is in a dedicated, well ventilated, kiln room which can be locked to prevent unauthorised access. Should you require a kiln cage within which to contain the kiln we can of course provide a quotation on request.
As a business with over 80 years of experience we pride ourselves on our flexibility and as each kiln is hand built by our team of specialists in our Stoke-on-Trent based manufacturing facility we are able to customise the design of the kiln to suit your needs right down to the side the door hinges are on and the colour of the kiln. All our elements are wound by hand onsite to the exact specification of the kiln and spare parts can be supplied at very short notice. In addition to our onsite technical support our kiln department is also able to install, service and repair all makes and models of kilns. When this is combined with our industry leading 3 year limited warranty, you are given peace of mind that the kiln will offer years of service. We are also able to offer regular servicing to provide you with peace of mind and ongoing support. This servicing is undertaken on an hourly rate basis and the interval can be discussed with you to ensure that an annual period is appropriate.
Should you wish to save money over the life of the kiln and require more in depth training in terms of the ongoing maintenance of your new kiln then I would be willing to offer you a place on our Stoke based Maintenance of Electric kilns course at a special price of £75+VAT. This teaches how to identify the symptoms /early warning signs that they should look in order to prevent outages and to quickly replace consumable items such as elements and relays.
The benefits of our ongoing telephone support for the kiln is also extended to our customers on all of our product range and as the only UK manufacturer producing clays, glazes and kilns under one roof we are in a great position to advise on a wide variety of areas within ceramics.
As you know we are a supplier of all types of pottery supplies and as an additional incentive to consider our company for your kiln we have included in the quotation an amount of clay on a free of charge basis along with a sample pack of our Mayco brush on glazes.
