There is no problem with copper in leadless glazes
Many potters wrongly believe the problem with copper in leaded glazes to mean that copper is toxic in all glazes.Copper presents no hazard whatsoever no matter what form the copper is (except copper sulphate which is poisonous). The problem is the lead ions which are displaced from the glaze matrix by the copper ion
