Pugmill Dies

Pugmill dies are metal plates or inserts fitted to the end of a pugmill or combined pugmill-extruder system. As clay is pushed through the machine, it is forced through the die opening, shaping it into a specific profile. This makes dies extremely useful in both handbuilding and production work, allowing potters to generate uniform coils, handles, tubes, tiles, and other repeatable clay components.

These dies provide a controlled way to extrude clay, making it ready for cutting, assembly, or slabbing. When paired with a reliable pugmill and a well-designed die, they can significantly reduce manual preparation time, improving consistency and quality.
