Forged Steel Tool Range

These tools, made from forged steel, can be used with several materials, such as wet and hard clay, plaster and even wax. Offering a high-quality steel build, these tools are perfect for extended use in producing fine textures and intricate designs in your work. They can also be used to manipulate raw materials and are often found among handbuilding throwing tools, as they are perfect for producing unique shapes and textures without the need for turning.

These tools come in various shapes and sizes, including:

Steel Tools for Handbuilding

Certain tools, like the Half Round, Flat Reverse 2 Ended, are ideal for use when building or sculpting by hand. This double-ended tool has a half-round end and a flat reverse side and finds uses in sculpting, smoothing, and even trimming during the turning process. It can also be used to assist with cleaning or smoothing surfaces before the application of glaze to ensure even coverage. The tools for handbuilding are most effectively used on hard or raw clay.

There are also options like the One Piece Machined, All Forged Steel, which is useful for smoothing and general modelling and shaping.

Steel Tools for Sculpting and Detailing

Forged steel tools like the Fine & Coarse Serrated/SmoothSharp are great for use on materials such as wax, plaster or hard clay. Featuring an end with a serrated edge and another with a smooth, sharp end, dual-purpose tools like this are ideal for creating intricate textures, patterns and details that would be tough to do without the tool.

Options like the Large & Small Hooked Serrated Ends tools are excellent for hollowing out and shaping sculpture work. They can reduce the need for a wire tool in certain areas, allowing more precise, refined curves.
